“The Mourning Stone Project began without me knowing it. I picked up the stone – a narrow speckled flint on a Sussex beach on September 7th 2014. It was where my sisters and I had lain together, floating in a calm sea, immediately after the death of our Father. I held that stone in my hand, buoyed by the water that had shaped and worn it. The stone held me, and fitted my hand as if I had squeezed it that way. This was the beginning of an ongoing series of artworks that engages walking, ritual and making amidst the material and agency of landscape.” – Jane Fox

Collaborative process lies at the heart of her activity and ranges from installation works made alongside others to poetic exchange with found material.
