Brighton CCA

A new centre for
contemporary arts at the
University of Brighton

This event is part of RESOLVE Collective

Join this zine making workshop led by Brighton-based multi-disciplinary artist Erin James as part of the Reclaiming Space public programme.

Framed within RESOLVE Collective’s leisure/work installation and inspired by Brighton’s growing DIY arts scene, Reclaiming Space seeks to share stories of the physical and intangible ways space can be reclaimed from the diverse perspectives of under-represented artists.

Free to attend, materials provided.

Erin James is a Brighton-based multi-disciplinary artist, with a focus on the merging of art and activism through her practices. She is the founder of the socially engaged zine Tough Cookie, as well as a poet, DJ, photographer and curator. The main themes of Erin’s work tend to revolve around mental health, trauma, activism. By tackling hate with joy and expression, and pushing for a world where we can be free to talk about “stigmatised” or “taboo” subjects, Erin finds purpose in her work and practices.
