Current sounds makes me think of water. We are being rushed around and all too often pulled under by a rip-tide. This track list is about keeping your head above water, giving into change, and living through flux. Le Guin talks about “the bottle of gin or wine” and it’s older sense of being a container. Is this a discussion of damage control? Of containing the inevitable collateral chaos from the patriarchy? Listen to me as I speak asks imbi, it feels as though the “crimson torrents” of story and quotidian tales of conflict come clean in the sea. The repetition found in verse and hooks and chorus remind us of the “wrested wild-oat seed from its husk”, we hear it, and we speak it, again, again, again, and again.
