A punk music performance taking place in amongst the lighting in the South Gallery as part of Giles Round’s exhibition Untitled, circa 1994 that combines archival research with the production of new work. This event is a collaboration with Gob Nation, a Brighton-based DIY label.

From the 1960s to 90s ‘The Basement’ – a warren of lower ground inter-connected rooms – was run by the Student Union as an event space and hosted bands including Echo & the Bunnymen, New Order and the Levellers. Now this space is host to collections held by the University of Brighton, including the Design Archives.

For this revival of the Friday Night Club, the popular night for The Basement amongst both students and the public, the South Gallery of Brighton CCA will become a performance space for this special line-up.

Ear plugs will be available. Brighton CCA has step-free access throughout its public spaces. We are wheelchair accessible and have accessible toilet. There will be security present at the event. The bar will be open with a Challenge 25 ID policy.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your visit please contact Polly Wright on 01273644716 or email brightoncca@brighton.ac.uk and we’ll do everything we can to make sure you have a positive experience here.
