Brighton CCA

A new centre for
contemporary arts at the
University of Brighton

This event is part of Billie Zangewa

Join lecturers and makers Vanessa Marr and Sarah Elwick in the North Gallery at Brighton CCA to contribute your own colourful quilt panel to their growing collaborative Global Challenges Quilt project, inspired by the university’s Global Challenges agenda and the UN Sustainability goals. The quilt, which began in November 2022 as part of Research & Knowledge Exchange Week, includes text and images that entice action and conversations around the topics of equality, gender, race, inclusivity, poverty, climate change and wellbeing.

Please bring the following with you if you have them:
Pre-loved fabric for cutting up, for example old cotton or Denim garments, pillowcases, old curtains, other (not slippery) fabric
Needles and thread

Further materials will be provided and we will have some additional fabrics on hand.

This is an informal making session, no previous experience is required. All welcome.
